Queensland premier – Anna Bligh – has just announced an increase in the first home buyers grant for buyers in regional Queensland. This will increase the amount available as a grant from $7,000 to $11,000 but is only available for buyers in area outside of Brisbane, Gold Coast, Redland, Logan, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim, Somerset, Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast council areas.
