You don’t have to just think about a six month or 12 month lease as the only options when signing or renewing leases. Sometimes it might be better to step outside the norm and vary the length of the lease.
Some key examples of this are that you don’t want a tenant to sign a lease that finishes a week before Christmas – what chance have you got to get someone to move in just before Christmas!
If you have a pool, try to get a lease that finishes in warmer months so that the feature of the pool really adds to the property.
