It doesn’t have to be just 6 or 12 months

Gold Coast mortgage broker Kathy Rogers was recently talking to clients about an investment property that they had. As part of the discussion, there was talk about the fact that you don’t have to just think about a six month or 12 month lease as the only options when signing or renewing leases and that sometimes it might be better to step outside the norm.

Some key examples of this are that you don’t want to tenant to sign a lease that finishes a week before Christmas – what chance have you got to get someone to move in just before Christmas!

If you have a pool, try to get a lease that finishes in warmer months so that the feature of the pool really adds to the property.
