Women continue to be the driving force in first home buyers

An interesting statistic from the the latest Bankwest/MFAA Home Finance Index is that first time buyers are more likely to be female, aged under 30, employed full-time, and living in a capital city, alone or in a couple, with no children and continue to be the driving force of the first time buyers segment.

In a big tick for females, the results show that women tend to be focussed and determined to realise their dreams of home purchasing and are often diligent in savings.

Also interesting was that people under 30 were the most likely to use mortgage brokers when selecting a home loan, possibly due to this demographic not having established relationships with financial institutions, and requiring more help with the process of loan applications.

We have helped many clients buy their first home – particularly since the raising of the First Home Owners Grant introduced during the Global Financial Crisis – and the results of this survey have amazingly been released on the same day as we have signed off for the first of our coffee shop get together designed to let people meet in an informal environment to find out more about buying their first home.

Exciting details of the first meeting which will be held in early August will be released in the next few days.
